Launch of Kyzyl gold project in Kazakhstan scheduled for third quarter 2018

13.03.2018 Almaty. March 13. KazTAG - Launch of Kyzyl gold project by Polymetal in Kazakhstan has been approved for the third quarter of 2018, reported the company's press service.
"In 2018, further production growth is expected, Kyzyl, Komarovskoye (Varvarinskoye hub) will be the main source for it, after reaching the design capacity of 2.2 million tons per year, as well as stable performance of our operating enterprises," reads the report.
"The launch of the Kyzyl project is scheduled for the third quarter of 2018. (...) Construction work at the enrichment plant is focused on installation of small technological equipment. In the first and third quarters of 2018, we will put a shift camp into operation , engineering and technical communications and facilities, warehouses, a heat and power complex, as well as a tailings pond and the main building of the enrichment plant," the company said.
Production of the first concentrate at Kyzyl is scheduled for the third quarter of 2018 . In January 2018, the first ore was extracted from the quarry. Polymetal plans to bring the modernized autoclave department to full design capacity in the second half of 2018, which will allow the processing of the first concentrate from Kyzyl immediately after its launch.
Mining Polymetal International Plc. produces gold, silver and copper. It has a number of geological exploration and development projects in Russia, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
The Kyzyl project includes the Bakyrchik and Bolshevik gold deposits located in the northeast of Kazakhstan.
