Women aged over 25 can visit Saudi Arabia without males’ accompaniment

12.01.2018 Almaty. January 12. KazTAG - Saudi Arabia will start issuing tourist visas for women aged over 25 travelling without accompaniment of males, reports Kommersant.
"Females could not enter the kingdom without an accompaniment of a male family member, now this ban will concern only women aged under 25. According to Khaleej Times one time visa will be valid for 30 days. The new regulation will come into force in the first quarter 2018," reads the message.
According to Omar al-Mubarak, representative of head department of tourism and national heritage of the Kingdom, "other visas including for pilgrims and labor migrants are effective on the territory of the state," reports TASS news agency.
According to al-Mubarak, the decision will enhance tourism development in Saudi Arabia and let women from other states learn more about the culture of the largest monarchy of the Persian Gulf.
